and they were, "I have to go to work."
I asked her to repeat it in the dream, and she did: "I haf-ta go to work." I was so excited that she was talking, and so sad that that's what she was saying. I knew it meant that she had heard me say that too many times.
Sometimes my dreams are really on the nose.

It's probably just a subconscious "nurturing" instinct on your part, Jenna. What she probably said was "YOU have to go to work."
ReplyDeleteMy grandson just got expelled from daycare school. For the second time he bit the same girl. Both times they were eating snacks, and both times she reached over to grab his Cheerios.
I'd bite anyone who grabbed my Cheerios, too.
ReplyDeleteExpelled? From Daycare? *sigh* What's the world coming to?
ReplyDeleteRest assured, the first words will be Mama or Dada. Some day you may hear the phrase "I have to go to work" but it will be following the word "Do" and will end in a ? That's when you start vacuuming her bedroom at 7am. Works every time.
ReplyDeleteNah, first words will either be "reading" or "writing"... :-)
